As pets age and their health evolves, so must our approach to their care. We recognize that navigating a pet's advancing years or shifting health condition can be emotionally challenging. Whether your pet is a new visitor to our salon or a longtime client, please know that we deeply prioritize their wellbeing, safety, and comfort.

In catering to senior pets or those with medical needs, we may suggest alterations to your pet's grooming routine, schedule, or style to best accommodate their evolving requirements. These adjustments might involve modifying appointment frequency, adjusting haircut length or style, splitting grooming sessions over two consecutive days, or arranging for additional support personnel to aid the grooming process.

Occasionally, pets may develop sensitivities that render certain grooming procedures, such as blow drying, intolerable. In such instances, we must explore alternative methods, which might result in a groom that appears less refined than usual. We may need to opt for shorter styles or forego intricate hand scissoring. Even if your pet has historically tolerated these procedures, age-related changes can alter their tolerance levels, necessitating adaptations to minimize stress.

Grooming can pose physical challenges for aging pets, particularly those with mobility issues or reduced stamina. To mitigate discomfort, we may advise simplifying grooming procedures to shorten appointment times, allowing pets to rest sooner post-grooming. Discussing your pet's pain management with your veterinarian can also prove beneficial, especially if they suffer from conditions like arthritis, which may affect their ability to stand or tolerate handling during grooming.

Many senior pets contend with dental issues that can cause discomfort during grooming, potentially necessitating adjustments to facial trimming. In some cases, we may opt for shorter trims around the face to prevent hair from obstructing their mouths or affecting their eating habits.

We understand that altering your pet's customary grooming routine can be challenging, but we're committed to supporting you and your furry companion. Our goal is to help you find solutions that maintain your pet's appearance and comfort while ensuring the most positive grooming experience possible.
